The Eelam Pavilion welcomes you. Learn about our rich culture and language and enjoy various forms of dance and taste our spicy and unique food during Carabram.
People in Eelam speak the language called Tamil – spoken by over 80 million people all over the world – 60 million live in Tamil Nadu in India, 3 million live in Ceylon (Sri Lanka) in the North and East, one million live in Malaysia and more than 300,000 live in Canada.
Tamil was accorded the status of a Classical Language, a designation that recognizes its antiquity but also its role as a carrier of great culture containing inspiring messages
Tamil language is amongst the oldest living languages of the world with its extraordinary volume of literature and grammar. It has been the means through which people have vividly expressed their understanding, aspirations and ideals. Its oldest work Tolkaappiyam dates back to about 200 years BC.

Food & Entertainment
Experience the diversity of Tamil culture at this year’s Eelam pavilion. Enjoy a fashion show featuring traditional Tamil clothing, and experience the different types of clothing worn by Tamils around the world.
The highlight of this year’s Eelam pavilion will be live musical entertainment throughout the festival by world famous Tamil artist Nirujan, alongside music troupes Mega Tuner and Bharathi Arts.
We have two fashion shows Saturday & Sunday this year. Here is a peak at last year’s show.

Friday: 6pm to 11pm
Saturday: 12pm to 11pm
Sunday: 12pm to 7pm
Purchase a Passport
Purchase your PASSPORT online with ease. We have a variety of payment options. All online purchases will receive a confirmation email including your receipt, which can only be redeemed for a PASSPORT at the customer service desk at Century Gardens Recreation Centre, 340 Vodden St E, Brampton, ON L6V 2N2.
In order to receive your PASSPORT you must provide a print copy of your receipt (Included in the confirmation email) and a piece of ID.
